This elaborate homam is performed by five vedic pundits. The pooja of Lord Vishnu is done with shodasopacharas, recitation of 1008 namavali japa of Lord Vishnu, Vishnu sooktam, purusha sooktam and Narayanopanishat. Purusha sooktam will berecited 1008 times. At the end, Vishnu Sahasranamam is recited. Later, homam is done with the prescribed items. The pooja culminates with Ghana oatham. The vedic sookta of Lord Vishnu is known as Purusha sukta and is recited in many homas. Devas who prayed to the Purusha by doing this Yagya and with all the Dharma, will attain high levels of Svarga. Santana Gopala Homam
This is one of the best homams advised for progeny. It is an elaborate pooja wherein Lord Vishnu is worshipped as Gopala Krishna with Tulasi leaves. Recitation of Purusha suktam is also done.
