The first and foremost thing to remember is to take a bath before the puja of the yantra. Along with the purification of body it is important to free the mind from all the negativities and tensions. For example the Sadhak or the person performing the puja will require fresh fruits and flowers for the mantra process. Also he will have to light a lamp beside the pitra dosh yantra. The yantra has to be placed in a spot facing the east direction. Another thing to keep in mind is that the person must not be disturbed while performing the puja. The yantra plate must only be touched by the sadhak and he must regularly wash it with milk or rose water. The sadhak needs to sprinkle some water from a leaf on him and then on the yantra plate while the mantra process. The yantra plate must be worshipped with kumkum, rice and flowers.
