Vastu Arrangement for Interiors
Vastu is ruling all architectural decisions today. Be it a small apartment or a lavish bungalow, a small office or a multi-story business running office, everything has got into the Vastu block. Having influenced personal peace and professional success, Vastu is something that is strictly followed. These days all big business houses, along with a lawyer and chartered accountant, have Vastu consultants as well. Such is the impact of the Vastu Shastra today.
Right from selecting the construction plot to the design of the building, to the interior designing of fixtures – everything is as per Vastu these days. It won’t be an exaggeration if said that Vastu has become a craze these days. With its positive effect, Vastu has managed to gain a huge number of believers.
Let’s have a look at some of Vastu’s arrangement for interiors:
- Kitchen is the heart of a house. As per Vastu, it is advised that the kitchen should be located in the southern part of the house. The rule is that cooking must be done facing east.
- The next important part of a house is the bedroom. Bedrooms must be located towards the south. However, many a times the location of the bedrooms change depending upon the horoscope of the owners. So, a Vastu specialist’s opinion in this regard, is good.
- Next important is the dining space. This space is the place that brings the entire family together. It is preferred that the dining area is towards the west.
- North is considered to be the house of Kubera (the god of wealth). So, all the money storing cupboards or lockers must be located in the North.
- The most sacred space of the house the puja room should be located in the north-east direction, as this direction is considered to be the abode of god and the best place to worship.
- Logically as well as per Vastu, the living room must be at the centre of the house. Also, the seating arrangements must be made in a way that while eating you should face east or north.
- No house or office is without furniture and fixtures. Therefore, as they are unavoidable, it is recommended that all the heavy furniture and fixtures must be planned to be kept in the southern or western part of the space.
- All the electronic appliances like TV, stereo system etc must be fixed to the north side or east side wall. In short, people, while watching TV, must face north or east.
- A laughing Buddha must always be placed in front of the main door and ensure that the Buddha must directly face the door.
- Artifacts with animal faces or paintings with animal faces must be avoided in the bedrooms.
- Never have a mirror on the wall opposite your bed. If possible, remove it, if you can’t, then it is preferable to put a curtain to the mirror.
